If you need a quick, tasty dinner tonight, these crispy baked pork chops are a family favorite! Seasoned, breaded, and baked to perfection, these juicy pork chops are flavorful and – best of all – super easy!
One day, I was watching one of my favorite YouTubers, Diana DeLaFuente, make a low-carb pork chop dish. Being the pork chop fan I am, I wanted to try the recipe. Sadly, I had none of the ingredients on hand besides the pork chops… but I didn’t let that stop me because I had pork chops on the brain! I decided to make some crispy baked pork chops. This recipe requires very few ingredients and paired perfectly with the Southern baked macaroni and cheese I had already prepared.
Easy Baked Pork Chops for Dinner
This delicious recipe couldn’t be any easier! If y’all have been following me for a while, you know I love pork chops. I have many pork chop recipes – from oven-baked BBQ pork chops to smothered pork chops, lemon garlic pork chops, and even slow cooker pork chops! So, it only seemed fitting to add crispy baked pork chops to my recipe collection.
Cooking pork chops doesn’t have to be intimidating. Nobody likes chewy, dry, tough chops. But with a little practice and the right oven temperature and cooking time, you’ll be making the tenderest, juiciest chops you can imagine! Now, since this recipe is so simple, let’s get right into it.
How to Make Crispy Baked Pork Chops
Ingredients
You only need a few simple ingredients to make this easy pork chop recipe. If you’re a regular cook, you probably already have everything you need! Be sure to check out the recipe card at the bottom of this post for the complete ingredient list, measurements, and directions.
- Pork Chops: I use thick-cut pork chops. The thickness of your pork chops changes the cooking time, so keep that in mind when shopping!
- Seasonings: a few kitchen-staple seasonings are all you need for this recipe – salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Eggs: a simple egg wash acts as a binder for the breadcrumbs.
- Panko Breadcrumbs: give the pork chops that perfectly crisp and crunch coating.
What’s the best cut of pork chops to use for baked pork chops?
The cut of pork chop you choose affects the recipe – flavor, cooking time, and moisture of the chops. Bone-in pork chops like rib chops (what I use in this recipe) and pork loin chops are less likely to overcook and stay juicy and moist. Boneless pork chops have less fat and usually less flavor than bone-in, but if you brine the chops and season them correctly, they’re just as delicious. In my opinion, thicker is better – a thick pork chop is more forgiving when it comes to cooking time.
Instructions
This easy dinner recipe is perfect for any night of the week. You can have dinner for the whole family on the table in under an hour. Here’s how to make the perfect oven-baked breaded pork chops.
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Pour two beaten eggs over the chops and mix with your hands (you could also dip the chops into the eggs, like a normal dredging process).
- Coat the pork chops with the seasoned panko breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the pork chops on a prepared baking sheet pan.
- Bake the breaded pork chops in a preheated 350-degree oven for 20 minutes. For that extra crispiness, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end of the cooking time.

How do I know when pork chops are done cooking?
The total cooking time will depend on the thickness of your pork chops, so test the internal temperature. The chops should be between 145- and 160-degrees F for the best results. Use an instant-read meat thermometer to check the temperature and ensure you’re not overcooking your chops!
Recipe Tips and Tricks for the Best Breaded Baked Pork Chops
Want to make these crispy baked pork chops even better? Here are some tips and tricks for adding ease and flavor to an already simple recipe!
- Play with the seasonings. I love the flavor and color of smoked paprika, but you can leave it out if you don’t like it. Try Italian seasoning, lemon pepper seasoning, or cayenne pepper for a kick of heat.
- Season your panko breadcrumb mixture. This will add so much flavor to the chops. You could even add fresh herbs like parsley for some fresh flavor.
- Add grated Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumb coating for a bite of cheesy, salty flavor.
- I like using panko breadcrumbs because they crisp up perfectly in the oven, but you can use regular or Italian breadcrumbs or a mixture of both panko and traditional.
- Prep your baking sheet to be non-stick. Line it with aluminum foil and use cooking spray. This makes for easy, mess-free cleanup.
- Reheat leftover pork chops in the oven, microwave, or air fryer. Reheating in the air fryer or oven will crisp up the breading on the pork chops, while the microwave is a quick and easy reheating option.
Why aren’t my pork chops crispy?
Like most meats, pork chops release juices during the baking process. Too much excess juice can make the breading soggy. If you want extra crispy pork chops, use a rimmed baking sheet fitted with a wire rack. This way, the breaded chops won’t sit in the juices, and both sides will be perfectly crispy.
