This was delicious! I am from Louisiana and had never made smothered chicken before. My family makes it, but I always eat and never cook. I had a request to make chicken gravy and rice, so I googled, “southern smothered chicken” and found your amazing recipe. I did add some things that I liked and then said a prayer, LOL, a brown gravy mix packet, green bell peppers, and Tony’s. I kept everything else the same. Thank you for posting this. We truly enjoyed it.
