Usually, when I want to get rid of apples, I whip up a nice homemade apple pie, apple cider, or a fresh apple cake, but in this post, we’re going to make a good old-fashioned slow cooker apple butter recipe!

How to Make Old-Fashioned Slow Cooker Apple Butter!
This is a super easy apple butter recipe. We simply peel and slice the apples and then toss them into the crockpot.
This homemade apple butter recipe is made with brown sugar, granulated sugar, a dash of maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg.

I used Granny Smith Apples for this recipe, but feel free to use other apples if you have them on hand.

Slow Cooker Apple Butter
Ingredients
- 3 Pounds of Granny Smith Apples peeled & sliced
- 1 Cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup 100% maple syrup
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp of round cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 1/2 tbsp of vanilla
Instructions
- Spray your slow cooker with nonstick spray.
- Toss the apple into the slow cooker
- Add the white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, lemon juice, and vanilla.
- Toss the apples until completely coated.
- Set the slow cooker on low, and cook for 10 hours.
- After 10 hours, the apple butter will be dark and thickened.
- Whisk to make it a bit more smooth.
- Let cool.
- Serve and enjoy!

You can cook it on low, but you’ll also have to babysit the pot. You can find a low cost slow cooker at Walmart .
