Turkey Gravy Recipe

Ingredients

  • Turkey drippings about 5 cups
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup reserved turkey fat or 4 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Reserve approximately ½ cup fat from the turkey drippings.

  • Add the fat to a pan over medium-high heat and, if solidified, allow the fat to melt. (If you don't have any turkey fat, sub with 4 tablespoons of butter).
  • Start sprinkling in some flour, about 1 tablespoon at a time, whisking as you do so.
    ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • Once flour is whisked in, slowly whisk in the remaining turkey drippings (approximately 4-5 cups), about one cup at a time.

  • Continuously whisk ingredients together to avoid lumps.
  • Turn the heat down to low and simmer the gravy for 15-20 minutes, whisking occasionally to avoid sticking/burning.
  • Test gravy with a spoon to ensure it is your desired thickness.
